A one-of-a-kind geodesic retreat among the cedars — a short walk from the heart of the Village.
Round where the world is square. Light where the forest is deep.
Built in 1988 and thoughtfully renewed, this geodesic dome rises from a wooded slope on the edge of Idyllwild. Its faceted shell pulls daylight in from every angle — turning the interior into something warm, open, and quietly unlike any other home on the mountain.
The dome’s triangulated ceiling lifts the living space into a soft, continuous volume — no flat walls boxing you in. Triangular skylights track the sun across the day, and a wood-burning stove anchors the great room for snowfall season.
Light oak floors, an open kitchen, and a staircase rising to the sleeping loft tie the whole level together.

The home sits on a sprawling 0.68-acre parcel where a seasonal creek threads the back of the lot — a soft running soundtrack through spring and summer. Towering pines stand in for fencing, giving you privacy, wildlife, and the feeling of being deep in the mountains.
And yet the Village is only a stroll away: trailheads, galleries, boutiques, and restaurants, all within easy walking distance.
Tucked in the San Jacinto Mountains, Idyllwild is an arts-and-trails town that trades freeway noise for pine air — and this dome puts you within walking distance of all of it.
Opportunities like this don’t come along often on the mountain. Reach out to arrange a private walk-through.
